The Beauty Of The Elephant Trail 2026 In London

By VCC | 9 April 2026

The world feels heavy right now.

Between the constant ping of notifications, the blur of commutes, and the pressure to always be productive, it’s easy to forget how to be present. To get lost in art. To remember that joy doesn’t have to be complicated; sometimes, it’s just a giant, colourful elephant waiting around a corner.

If you’ve been following my London adventures, you know I love a public art scavenger hunt. Last year, it was whimsical eggs scattered across the city. This season, the magic has moved south to Battersea Power Station; and the subjects are larger, more majestic, and powered by purpose.

The Elephant Trail, in partnership with wildlife charity Elephant Family, has brought 21 stunning artist-designed elephant sculptures to the riverside. This isn’t just a photo op but an invitation to practice intentional living in the heart of the bustling city.

What Is The Elephant Trail?

The Elephant Trail is a free, public art trail hosted by Battersea Power Station in support of Elephant Family. It features 21 beautifully painted elephant sculptures from Elephant Parade, transforming the site into a vibrant open-air gallery celebrating art, creativity, and nature.

It’s:

  • A joy-filled treasure hunt for all ages.

  • A global art project with renowned artists.

  • A mission with meaning; proceeds from the final auction protect elephants in the wild.

  • Certified 100% fun for the whole family (plus, you can unlock special offers from retailers via the app).

Your mission? Find each elephant. Log them on the app. Let them remind you that adventure and compassion can go hand in trunk. 🐘

Meet the Herd: Eight Sculptures That Stole My Heart

Each elephant on the trail tells its own story; distinct in style, yet united in meaning. I fell in love with so many, but here are a few that made me stop, stare, and smile:

  • Peony Lover by Pitakarn Pongwarut (from Thailand): Adorned with red peonies is pure emotion in motion, its rich red blooms symbolising love and passion, made even more striking in person.

  • Patchie Indigo by Patricia Collins is quietly striking; its deep indigo tones and patchwork design feel both grounded and timeless, drawing you in with subtle detail.

  • Noah by Marina Tonon: with its intricate mandala patterns, creates a moment of stillness; grounding, almost meditative.

  •  Alice in Wonderfant by Studio Phantasma: invites you into a whimsical trip down the rabbit hole; featuring famous settings and beloved characters. It felt like stepping into a dream.

  • Pattern Geometric by Nipon Kaewkumdee is strikingly precise and vibrant, blending bold shapes and colours into a visually hypnotic design that celebrates symmetry and playful abstraction.

  • Psycho Elephant Antopofagico Tropical by Fernando Guimaraes whose inspiration was from ancient symbols of Brazilian indigenous groups.

  • Psychedelephant Two Personalities Or Different Realities by Cindy Pielstroom is bold and thought-provoking; its contrasting visuals explore duality, perception, and the idea that reality depends on how you choose to see it.

  • Lucky Elephant by Noek Oude Ophius radiates joy and optimism; its vibrant design feels playful yet symbolic, capturing the spirit of luck, hope, and lighthearted wonder.

The Elephant Trail Is Intentional Living (Disguised as Fun)

What if mindfulness looked like following a map and chasing colour? What if connection grew from wandering without a destination? What if the best family reset wasn’t a weekend away… but a few hours in your own city?

This trail is your invitation to slow down, look up, and lean into curiosity. From the power station’s Art Deco grandeur to its riverside gardens and buzzing new shops, each step offers a chance to explore London with fresh eyes; while supporting wildlife conservation.

Here’s how to start your own herd journey:

  1. Pick your start time: The trail runs from 26th March to 26th April 2026. Morning light is gorgeous for photos!

  2. Download the app: Search “Battersea Power Station Trail” on iOS or Android. You’ll collect sculptures, track progress, and unlock special offers from retailers.

  3. Bring your people: Kids, partners, friends, or even solo (the app and friendly hunters make it social).

  4. Keep it playful: Set mini challenges: find your favourite pattern, take a silly photo with an elephant, or guess which artist is from farthest away.

  5. Collect the rewards: Spotting one of the elephants unlocked a complimentary afternoon tea for two at Paris Baguette; where Sehjana and her team made the experience feel truly special.

  6. Don’t miss the creative workshops: Over Easter, there are elephant-themed arts and crafts for children. Perfect for little hands and big imaginations.

Chasing these elephants reminded us of something simple: joy fuels the journey. Exploration is enough. Connection deepens when you slow down and notice.

You’re never too old for a little wonder. Sometimes, all it takes to lift a grey day is a red or midnight blue elephant, a riverside breeze, and a delightful afternoon tea.
